Refugees and Asylum seekers Conversation Club

Meeting every Thursday at 1.30 pm The Conversation Club is an informal and friendly space for asylum seekers and refugees to improve and practice their English through social engagement; by chatting over tea and playing games together – instead of in a formal teaching environment.

Founded at Mill Hill Chapel in May 2016 and now in its 6th amazing year, the conversation club is now run by an independent charitable organisation… visit their website here

In November 2017, we were awarded Highly Commended in the ‘Most Inspirational Project of the Year’ section of the Leeds Compassionate City Awards.

In June 2018 the conversation club featured in a play called ‘Searching for the Heart of Leeds’ at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.

This is a friendly and welcoming group open to all.

If you could consider volunteering your time to this amazing project we are looking for people who are friendly and responsible to contribute time on Thursday afternoons between 1-4pm you can just turn up if you wish, come to the main entrance facing City Sq. or contact us first via email at Here!
